Go Lay in the Grass
I mean it. Maybe you can't go lay in the grass right at this moment. But try and find some time in the next day or two to find at least 5 minutes to go outside and lay down. Maybe you can go in your backyard, or maybe you can go to a local park. Just take your yoga mat/blanket, or just lay flat in the grass as long as you don't have any allergies!
I have been hosting Yoga in the Park for the past month and I forget how therapeutic being outside can be. Even though I am not practicing and am teaching, I still feel very calm and peaceful after I teach that class. And I notice a change in people by the end of class. I see tension and stress leave their bodies. And I've had many people say that they feel like kids again just laying down and looking up at the sky! When was the last time you did that? If you don't know, make sure you get outside and make this happen!
Not only have I been teaching in the park, I have also been able to take yoga in the park this summer. One class I did directly on the grass, no mat or blanket, and it was really interesting to practice on the grass. It made me much more aware of my feet and hands and also smelled so amazing as I lowered to my belly during my vinyasa. For me, my senses seem to be heightened when I am outside. I can really tune into the sights, sounds, and smells if I just slow down and pay attention.
So, I encourage you to get outside and lay in the grass! It may be challenging at first, but give it a try, and let me know how it goes!
